In John 12:32, Jesus said, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” When Jesus was leaving and going to the cross, he made this statement to His disciples to encourage them to make sure that they are lifting up the one who is going to die to save the world. In our lives, who are we lifting up? If you want to lift up Jesus in your life, these are things you can do.
We can lift up Jesus by becoming a Christian. Jesus’ main goal in his ministry was to save the world from their sins and provide them with an eternal home with God. He gave the people a way to get to this home. He called them to be his disciples by following Him. When we choose to follow someone, we are saying to them we will do what you ask. When we obey Jesus and follow His commands, we are lifting Him up.
We can lift up Jesus by living a spiritual life in Christ. Becoming a Christian is one thing but continuing to follow him is another part of the Christian walk. It is really important as Christians to stay focused on God and to continue to walk with Him. We have to be people that desire to live a spiritual life in Christ. In Hebrews 12:2 we find, “Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, . . .” It is difficult to run the Christian race, but we want to lift up Jesus, we have to continue to stay focused on Him.
We can lift up Jesus by getting involved in the work of the church as well. The church is in need of people who are willing to work. There are so many things that need to be done in the church, it will take many different people with all kinds of talents to get the work done. Our purpose here on earth is to work for God and to help His church to grow. Get involved today in the work of the church.
Jesus ask us to lift Him up and when we do that, He will draw all men to himself. If we want to allow people to see Jesus, these are just a few things we can do to lift Him up in our lives.
